I'll try to keep this short. I was married for 10 years right out of high school, was very young, he is 16 years older than myself, I sacrificed everything(school and work) for him.
I ended up getting verbally and physically abused. I was struggling to get out without any income being a stay at home mom.
He was arrested and taken out of the home during out divorce and at the trial, He got full physical custody of the children.
Reasons: He told lies to hurt me and get the children which meant he gets the house and support. He already was given a job at FORD MOTOR through my father with high pay and benefits. I was desperate for work, I ended up cleaning houses and at the divorce final hearing, Because the blind judge believed that since he was older and I was younger, he was telling the truth.
His attorney actually tried to ask for 350.00 a week in child support from me. He ended up getting 90 a week imputed. So I ended up living with my parents, couldn't find a job until my arrearages got up to 13,000 and with the annual interest, I am now up to 24,000 and I have paid every chance I get and I am still now stuck in the system where, because of my arrearages: I have my tax refunds intercepted, denied a passport, on my credit report, potential employers do checks and find I am owing back support and I don't get the job, I can't renew my drivers license now and i can't get my real estate license, it is a felony on my record at this high amount.
And I was just trying to get away from him. I definitely need help. . I feel lost in this system. I have a new baby and my future has been sucked away from me. I was trying to get my education when I divorced him but it isn't going to do me any good.
With a felony on my record I won't be able to go back to law school. I'm currently working on a Ph.D. Their father is still angry with me for divorcing him and hasn't spoken to me since the divorce 9 years ago.
