I am a mom who loves her little girl to pieces! Last year my daughter and I moved from New York to Georgia in search of work. My ex and I have been divorced for nearly 8 years and I had primary custody since she was 3 years old (a mom to her since she was born).

Then one day I was served papers by a sherif, my ex was sueing me after all these years for the custody of our daughter. I had no money and no job, he won. She lives with her dad now in Silver Lake, Minnesota. I was devestated. My daughter wants to come home but can't. It breaks my heart! A few days ago I got the judgment for child support from Little Falls court. It is outrageous! I live in an efficiency apartment, barely making it! I had lost my home in Georgia and all my possessions and a wonderful dog and of course, the worst of all, my daughter. How am I to live? I will lose my car and I will lose my job!

I can't appeal it, I don't have the money and I can't afford a lawyer. I can't find a pro bono lawyer either. I have called everywhere! I wish that I could get help. I will have to apply for welfare. I have written to the Senator in my district to support the child support reform bill.
